"Layered Training" is a technique used by The Mobile Tutor to deliver training to your staff once each staff member's skill level has been identified. Take the scenario of an office of 8 staff members who desperately require training in Microsoft Word. Two of the admin support staff have a very high level of Word skills already, however would like to do a recap session and perhaps learn more about Mail Merge. Four of the consultants need intermediate level training to understand and apply Columns, Tables, Section Breaks and Headers and Footers in their Word documents. They are keen to acquire some new tips and tricks along the way too. The last two staff members require basic level training as they are both new to the team and nobody in the office has time to bring them up to speed.

The Mobile Tutor can design a training package customised to all 8 staff members to be delivered in 1 - 2 training sessions.

How does it work? Using the scenario above, the two basic level staff members would commence their stage of the training first, after basic level features have been covered, the four intermediate level staff will join the training. Finally the two advanced level members would be integrated in the last stage of training. Staff starting at the bottom level of training have the option to stay for the next two levels up or can dismiss themselves depending on their degree of information saturation, availability and/or supervisor's guidance.
